Step-by-Step Washing Guide

Before First Use

Always wash new silk bedding before use. This removes manufacturing residues and enhances natural softness.

Machine Washing (Recommended)

  1. Set temperature to COLD (below 80°F/29°C)
  2. Select delicate/gentle cycle
  3. Use silk-only load or mesh laundry bag
  4. Add mild, pH-neutral detergent (small amount)
  5. Skip fabric softener (silk is naturally soft)

Hand Washing (Gentlest Option)

  1. Fill basin with cold water
  2. Add few drops of silk detergent
  3. Gently agitate by hand (no rubbing/scrubbing)
  4. Soak 5-10 minutes maximum
  5. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear

Drying Your Silk

The Golden Rule: NO HEAT

Never use heated dryer settings. Heat damages silk fibers permanently.

Proper Drying Method

  1. Gently remove excess water: Roll in clean white towel, press gently
  2. Air dry naturally: Hang on line or lay flat on drying rack
  3. Keep away from direct sunlight: UV rays can fade colors and weaken fibers
  4. Expect 45-60 minutes drying time: Under normal conditions

Emergency Dryer Use: If absolutely necessary: Use "air only" setting for 10-15 minutes maximum. Remove while slightly damp and finish air drying.
